Sindhi Community Celebrates Chaliho Festival with Enthusiasm

Various religious events, including Satsang, Bhajan, and Kirtan, were organized at Jhulelal temples and Gurudwaras in Pimpri.

Pune: The Sindhi community in Pimpri Camp concluded their annual Chaliho festival with great enthusiasm this year.

Religious programs such as Satsang, Bhajan, and Kirtan were held at the Jhulelal Temple to mark the occasion. The celebration reached its peak when devotees, accompanied by lively music, offered 'Akha' (sacred rice grains) to the Pavana River.

During the Chaliho festival, members of the Sindhi community observe a 40-day fast, with a higher participation of women. Various religious events, including Satsang, Bhajan, and Kirtan, were organized at Jhulelal temples and Gurudwaras in Pimpri. After these events, prasad (sacred food) was distributed among the devotees.

The festival also saw the participation of social workers, various social organizations, and people from different communities in Pimpri. The Sindhi community made efforts to maintain social harmony by involving people from other communities during the 40-day festival.

For the conclusion of the Chaliho festival, all community members in Pimpri gathered with great enthusiasm at the Pavana River, where they offered 'Akha' (sacred rice grains) to the river.

Meanwhile, a day-long Bhajan program was organized at the Jhulelal temple on the riverbank. Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation employees and police were present in large numbers to ensure that no untoward incidents occurred during the festival.

The festival was successfully organized with the cooperation of Dilip Madnani, Bhagwan Lalwan Kumar Muthani, Mohan Khemchandani, Jamu Chandran, Vishal Rohara, Kishan Mathani, Rajesh Chandwani, Ashok Madani, Chander Achra, Hemant Rajesh, Indrayan Nathani, Tarachand Tarathani, Kishan Mathani, Ajit Kanjwani, Raju Nagpal, Manohar Jethwani, and former municipal councilor Sulakshana Shilwant Dhar.
