Sinhagad Road Heavily Patrolled as CM Shinde Meets Flood-Affected Residents

Shivraj Sanas

Pune: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Pune to offer relief to citizens impacted by recent floods in the Ekta Nagari and Vitthal Nagar areas along Sinhagad Road.

The visit saw Sinhagad Road transform into a heavily policed zone to manage the expected traffic congestion due to the Chief Minister's convoy.

More than ten police officers were deployed at each major intersection along the route to ensure smooth passage. Vehicles parked on the roadside were removed or towed to prevent any obstruction.

Real-time updates on the convoy's progress resulted in temporary traffic halts from Dhayari to Rajaram Bridge, causing a flurry of activity among the Pune police.

The Chief Minister's visit included stops in flood-affected areas such as Sangvi in Pimpri-Chinchwad and Patil Estate in Shivajinagar before heading towards Sinhagad Road.

The convoy's route, from Dandekar Bridge to Santosh Hall, had police stationed at every intersection. Regular traffic congestion from Rajaram Bridge to Santosh Hall, exacerbated by ongoing flyover construction, required additional management.

By 3:15 PM, the convoy moved past Ranka Jewelers intersection, where a parked Scorpio obstructing traffic was promptly towed away. Police ensured clear passage by stationing more than ten officers at each intersection and deploying towing vehicles.

Traffic was swiftly managed from Ranka Jewelers intersection to Dhayari, while movement from Dhayari to Rajaram Bridge was halted.

To avoid any delays, police presence was established from noon on Sinhagad Road up to Santosh Hall. The narrow road from Santosh Hall to Sun City necessitated additional officer deployment.

Barricades were placed to close the road from Apurva Medical intersection to Ekta Nagari, permitting only pedestrian access.
