This incident follows another recent event in the same area where a luxury car ran over two youths. Recently, in Mumbai's Worli, Mihir Shah, the son of a political leader, was involved in a hit-and-run case that resulted in a woman's death.
In Pune, a policeman on duty was killed on the spot, and another injured, after their patrol bike was hit by a speeding car at the underpass near Harris Bridge in Bopodi area on the old Pune-Mumbai Highway on July 7 night.
The deceased policeman was identified as Samadhan Koli while the injured policeman as Sanjog Shinde. The duo were posted at Khadki police station. The rise in hit-and-run cases in Pune has sparked concern among the city's residents about their safety.
