English football club Liverpool will be unable to travel to Germany for their Champions League tie with RB Leipzig on Feb 16 as the German government has banned entry for all countries affected by coronavirus mutations until Feb 17, with the only exceptions made for German residents.
Rb Leipzig was hoping to get an exception, but local authorities denied the permission.
The Bundesliga club now has to propose a neutral venue until Monday. Another alternative is that both the clubs agree to switch the two legs and swap dates with each other.
The second leg of the Champions League round of 16 is scheduled for March 10.
