SPPU Exam Form Glitch: Journalism and Science Students Face Challenges

NEP implementation has led to discrepancies between the old and new curricula, causing certain subjects not to appear in the form system.

Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University is currently in the process of collecting examination forms, with the final deadline set for October 24.

However, students from the Journalism and Science departments are facing significant difficulties due to issues with the online exam form submission system.

The implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP) this year has led to discrepancies between the old and new curricula, causing certain subjects not to appear in the form system, preventing students from completing their applications.

While the link for submitting postgraduate journalism exam forms has been open since the start of the process and will remain available until Thursday, October 24, many students have been unable to see their required subjects listed on the form.

Despite attempts to contact the university’s examination department, students have not received any resolution. The confusion arises from the NEP 2024 pattern introduced this year for newly admitted students, while students from earlier batches continue to follow the 2019 pattern.

The Journalism Department had implemented the NEP pattern last year, but this year, it was extended to other departments, creating further confusion in the form submission process.

Students from both the Journalism and Science departments have expressed frustration over the situation, stating that it has caused delays in completing their exam forms.

The university management has been informed of the issue, and efforts are being made to address the errors in the system. If the problem is not resolved soon, students plan to request an extension of the deadline.

A member of the Management Council, commented, “We are urging the university to correct the errors in the forms. If the issue persists, we will press for an extension of the submission deadline.”
