Pune: A resolution has been passed to seek the approval of the Biodiversity Board for the transfer of 30 gunthas of land for the Municipal Corporation's Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in the plant garden of the Agricultural College.

However, the Regional Agricultural Research Centre said that the university has not received a letter from the Biodiversity Board regarding changes in the notification in this regard.

For the last one-and-a-half years, the PMC has been trying to get the land in the botanic garden of the agricultural college to the STP centre.

The issue was pending even after the central and state governments looked into it. Meanwhile, a meeting of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Rahuri discussed the proposal to transfer 30 gunthas of land for STP.

It was decided that Maharashtra is making recommendations to the government through the Council of Agricultural Education and Research.

Meanwhile, the university is yet to receive a letter or order from the Biodiversity Board to change the notification for the sector. Therefore, the area concerned was not made available to the PMC," said the office of the associate director of the Regional Agricultural Research Centre at Ganeshkhind.
