Pune: Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, AVSM, NM, Commandant of the National Defence Academy (NDA), inaugurated the state-of-the-art 'Super Dimona Static Simulator' at the Air Force Training Team at the NDA.

The simulator, developed indigenously at the Software Development Institute of the Indian Air Force, marks a significant step towards modernizing training facilities and aligns with the national initiative of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, promoting self-reliance in defense technology.

The Super Dimona Cockpit Simulator has been designed with contributions from local industries, which were involved in making mechanical modifications, fabricating flight controls, and incorporating advanced display screens to simulate a highly realistic flying environment.

This collaboration underscores the role of Indian industry in enhancing defense capabilities through innovation and technical expertise.

One of the key features of the simulator is its advanced simulation software, which includes precise flight dynamics and provides a 135-degree field of view through an immersive display system.

This feature significantly enhances the aerial and visual experience for cadets, allowing them to practice and hone their flying skills in a safe and controlled environment.

The simulator is expected to play a vital role in the foundational training of Air Force Cadets at the NDA. By offering realistic flight experiences, the simulator aims to build the confidence and competence of cadets, preparing them thoroughly for future aviation challenges.
