Pune: Member of Parliament from Baramathi Loksabha Constituency, Supriya Sule has demanded that the government announce a special package for flood-affected areas on Sinhagad Road.
Due to a lack of coordination between the Water Resources Department and the Pune Municipal Corporation, residents of Ekta Nagari and Anand Nagar areas on Sinhagad Road have been severely affected by flood conditions. As a result, their lives have been devastated.
Sule has proposed a three-phase plan to address the issue:
Immediate Clean-Up and Restoration: Ensuring the area is completely cleaned, water tanks are sanitized, regular spraying is conducted twice a day, and daily life is restored to normalcy.
Financial Aid and Essential Services: Providing financial assistance to affected residents, helping replace important documents lost in the floods, and setting up a dedicated cell to assist those whose documents are missing.
Permanent Flood Prevention Measures: Implementing long-term solutions to prevent future flooding in the area.
During her visit to Ekta Nagari and surrounding areas, Sule listened to the residents' grievances, particularly those of women who expressed their difficulties.
They shared that their homes and belongings, including their children's books, clothes, and school uniforms, were swept away by the floodwaters. They urged for immediate aid and a permanent solution to the flooding problem.
MP Supriya Sule was accompanied by Kaka Chavan, Sachin Dodke, and other officials and workers. They visited and inspected societies in the Ekta Nagari area, including Radhakrishna Vihar, Radhakrishnanagari A and B Wing, Sonali, Shri Bhagyalaxmi, Riddhi-Siddhi, Swapnil, Pragati Park, Aryan, Ameya, Shri Ganesh, Kunj, Sharyu, Shivali, Sitali, Shantai, Sangam, among others.
