Pune Rural Police investigation into the alleged phone hacking of Baramati MP and NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule has revealed that other than her, 15 more NCP officials were targeted by the hackers.

Police have traced the hackers to Bihar in its primary investigation. It has been revealed that the hackers allegedly demanded $200 from the unsuspected victims of the widespread cyberattack.

While Supriya Sule was on a tour in Pune on Sunday (August 11), she received a message on her WhatsApp. Upon clicking the message, she realized that her mobile phone had been hacked.

She then asked Jayant Patil to send a message to her number. After he sent the message, it was discovered that the hacker had engaged in a chat with Jayant Patil.

Following this, Supriya Sule switched off her mobile phone and shared the information about the hacking on social media. She also filed a complaint with Pune Rural police.

Accordingly, the Pune Rural Police began investigating the case. After the complaint was filed at the Yavat Police Station, Supriya Sule's phone and WhatsApp were recovered and restored by Sunday evening itself.

During the investigation, the police uncovered additional details. It was revealed that the phones of 10 to 15 other officials from the NCP had also been hacked. Additionally, they were reportedly asked for money.

The hacker who targeted Supriya Sule demanded $200, which amounts to about ₹16000. It was also revealed during the investigation that other officials were asked to pay between ₹15000 and ₹20000.

The hacker's location was traced to Bihar, and it is believed that the hacker is a young man from the region, according to police sources.
