Pune: A 23-year-old tempo driver, Kartik alias Mangesh Kamble, has been arrested by the Hinjewadi police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl multiple times over a three-month period. The crime was uncovered when the girl became pregnant.

The incidents took place between April and June 2024 in Kasarsai and Walhekarwadi, Chinchwad. Despite being aware that the victim was a minor, Kamble reportedly coerced her into sexual relations, threatening to kill her family and defame her if she revealed the abuse.

The girl, frightened by his threats, remained silent until her pregnancy exposed the crime. The case is under investigation by Police Sub-Inspector Tukaram Shelke.

Autorickshaw Driver Accused of Sexual Exploitation

Vishrantwadi police have registered a case against a 31-year-old autorickshaw driver, Rakesh Sunil Sarode, for allegedly sexually exploiting a 25-year-old woman by promising to marry her.

The woman, who lives with her two children and is embroiled in a legal dispute with her husband, became acquainted with Sarode in 2023. Their relationship developed into a romantic one, with Sarode claiming that he was unhappy in his marriage and intended to divorce his wife to marry the complainant.

On September 18, 2023, he took the complainant to his house and engaged in sexual relations with her, promising to marry her after divorcing his wife.

He continued to have sexual relations with her until a dispute arose on August 1, 2024, after which he cut off all contact with her, leading to her feeling deceived. The investigation is being conducted by Police Inspector Kanchan Jadhav.
