Every year, the Ganesh festival draws thousands of devotees, including many from outside Pune. To manage the increased vehicle traffic, parking spaces for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers have been designated at 27 sites throughout the city, as confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of the Traffic Branch, Amol Zhende.

Parking Details for Devotees

The parking facilities will remain in place until the conclusion of the Ganesh immersion processions. These spaces have been set up to ease congestion, particularly in the city's central areas, where most of the prominent Ganpati pandals are located.

The city’s traffic police have emphasized that these locations will provide ample space for the large number of vehicles expected during the festival. In addition to the parking spots mentioned above, other areas like Narayan Peth, Sarasbaug, Mitramandal Chowk, and Karve Road have also been equipped to handle the extra traffic.

Immersion Day Arrangements

These parking arrangements will be crucial during the final day of the festival, when the Ganesh idols are taken for immersion in grand processions.

Given the heavy foot traffic and vehicle congestion during this time, the designated parking spots are expected to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth traffic flow.

The police urge devotees to use these dedicated parking facilities and avoid parking in unauthorized areas, which may cause traffic snarls and inconvenience to fellow devotees.
