Pimpri: The construction obstructing the Spine Road at Triveni Nagar Square has been removed, clearing the way for rapid progress on road work that is expected to be completed within three months.

The Spine Road, which connects the Pune-Nashik highway to the Bhakti-Shakti Chowk in Nigdi on the Mumbai-Pune highway, is a key route for commuters. The removal of these obstacles will help resolve the bottleneck that has plagued the Triveni Nagar area for years.

Officials from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation confirmed that the road work has already commenced, and the clearance of construction structures at Triveni Nagar Square is a crucial step forward.

This section of the road, which was originally built a few years ago, had been delayed due to the presence of structures at the square.

The authorities successfully relocated the affected property owners to alternative locations, allowing the work to resume at full speed.

The cleared road will significantly improve traffic flow from Durga Nagar, Talwade, Nigdi, and Bhosari, where commuters have long struggled with gridlock at Triveni Nagar Square.

Once completed, the road will provide seamless connectivity between the Pune-Nashik highway, the Mumbai-Pune highway, and the Expressway, which will greatly reduce travel time for drivers and improve overall road safety.

The Municipal Corporation has implemented temporary changes to the traffic pattern while the work is ongoing. Vehicles coming from Durga Nagar Square are being diverted toward Ankush Square and then directed toward Talwade, bypassing Triveni Nagar Square. City officials aim to complete the roadwork within the next three months.

Triveni Nagar Square has been a notorious hotspot for traffic jams, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening.

The square is a crucial junction that provides access to key locations like Talwade IT Park, Chakan MIDC, Pimpri-Chinchwad city, and the Dehu-Alandi pilgrimage site.

However, the narrow and curved road has often caused long queues of vehicles, frustrating drivers and causing delays. With the new road improvements, the situation is expected to change for the better

Makrand Nikam, the city engineer of the Municipal Corporation, expressed optimism about the ongoing work, saying, "The construction at Triveni Nagar Square has been cleared, and road work is progressing rapidly.

In the next three months, the road will be open for traffic, which will greatly ease congestion and improve traffic flow."
