Violent Outburst: Minor Attacks Mother After She Turns Off Mobile Series

Salil Urunkar

Pune: In a disturbing incident in Pune’s Dhankawadi area, a minor boy attempted to attack his mother with scissors after she turned off a series he was watching on his mobile phone.

The boy, in a fit of rage, not only assaulted his mother but also shattered glass windows and damaged property inside their home.

The Sahakarnagar police have registered a case against the minor after the mother lodged a formal complaint. According to the complaint, the boy had been watching a series on his mobile phone late into the night on Monday (October 14).

Concerned about the time spent on the phone, the mother advised him to stop. Despite her request, the boy continued watching, leading the mother to forcibly take the phone from his hand and switch off the series.

Enraged by this, the boy began attacking his mother, damaging a wooden frame in the house and attempting to stab her with a pair of scissors. He also physically assaulted her by kicking and punching, and in a further fit of anger, smashed the glass windows in the house.

Shocked and frightened, the mother immediately reported the incident to the police. Police Sub-Inspector Kale arrived at the scene to assess the situation, and the investigation is currently being conducted by Constable Jadhav.

There is increasing concern regarding minors being influenced by violent content on mobile phones, including movies, videos depicting violent acts, and clips involving criminals. Such exposure is reportedly causing an alarming number of minors to gravitate towards criminal behavior.
