Pune: Bala Bhegde, former BJP state minister, has lodged a complaint at Talegaon police station against Vinod Pokharkar, a representative of the Maratha Morcha.

The complaint comes after an audio clip of a phone conversation between Bhegde and Pokharkar went viral, in which Pokharkar used abusive language and issued threats. A non-cognizable offense has been registered.

On August 2, during a BJP rally in Maval, Bhegade accused Jarange Patil of misleading the Maratha community under the influence of the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition.

This statement, allegedly against Manoj Jarange Patil, upset the Maratha Morcha officials. In response, Pokharkar called Bhegde to confront him and delivered a threatening warning.

The recorded conversation quickly spread on social media. Bhegde cited defamation in his complaint, personally filing it at the Talegaon police station.
