Vishrantwadi: Youth Duped of Rs 18.71 lakh by Cyber Thieves on Pretext of Online Work

Pune: A youth from Vishrantwadi area was duped of Rs 18.71 lakh by cyber thieves on the pretext of giving him an opportunity to work online from his house. A youth lodged a complaint at Vishrantwadi police station.

Accordingly, a case has been registered against the cyber thieves.
The complainant, Tarun, lives in Munjaba basti in Dhanori area. The cyber thieves contacted the mobile number of the youth. The thieves lured the youth with the opportunity to work online from home.

Initially, the youth was paid for online work by the thieves. The youth believed that the thieves paid for the refund.

The thieves then lured the youth into the trap by promising him that he would get good money if he worked online and would also get a return if he invested money in the business.

He extorted Rs 18.71 lakh from the youth from time to time. After depositing the money in the accounts of the thieves, the thieves switched off their mobile numbers.
