Pune: In line with the directives from the Election Commission of India, special brief revision programs are being held across the district, receiving a positive response from the citizens. Eligible individuals have until August 16 to register as voters for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Voter registrations were conducted at Prof. Ramkrishna More College in Akurdi and Dr. D.Y. Patil College in Nigdi. During these events, students were informed about the significance of voter registration and the voting process. A special voter registration camp was also held at Late Nagnath Maruti Gadsing (Guruji) Junior College in Chinchwad.

Registration forms were collected at various locations, including Savitribai Phule Girls School in Saswad, Panchsheel Nagar in Vishrantwadi, Saraswati Vidyalaya in Tingre Nagar, Magarpatta, Thergaon Hospital, District Council School in Velhe, Platinum Park in Mulshi, and several other places like Ambegaon, Khed, Alandi, Mulshi, Ambegaon, Chandoli Khurd, Avasari Khurd, and Bhosari.

To inform voters about this special campaign, various public awareness activities are being carried out under the ‘SVEEP’ program, especially targeting new voters to encourage them to register. Usually voters complain about their names missing from voters list at the time of voting, however, officials cannot make any decision at the last hour.

Additionally, these camps are accepting applications for corrections in the voter list details. Citizens whose names are not on the voter list or who need to make changes should participate in these special camps or contact the polling station officer at their nearest polling center, according to Deputy District Election Officer Meenal Kalaskar.
