Pune: In a meeting held in Wadgaon Sheri, BJP officials expressed their dissatisfaction with current NCP MLA Sunil Tingre for not supporting the party during the Lok Sabha elections.

BJP officials made it clear that they will not support Tingre in the upcoming assembly elections, presenting their stance in front of BJP's National Secretary Pankaja Munde. This development indicates an impending intensified conflict within the Mahayuti alliance as the assembly elections approach.

The meeting, organized by Pankaja Munde, was attended by BJP's city president Dheeraj Ghate, Jagdish Mulik, and other local leaders, including ex-councilors and officials.

BJP officials used the platform to voice their grievances against the NCP MLA, highlighting Tingre’s failure to adhere to alliance commitments. This discontent follows a recent controversy over credit for development work inaugurations in Wadgaon Sheri, where Jagdish Mulik accused Tingre of neglecting alliance norms.

Going a step further, BJP officials submitted a written complaint against Tingre to Pankaja Munde and demanded that the Wadgaon Sheri constituency be reserved for BJP in the upcoming elections.

Pankaja Munde addressed the concerns by encouraging party workers to engage directly with the public to counter the opposition's misleading narratives, citing how past attempts to create a false narrative about constitutional changes had gained some traction.

Munde emphasized that the electorate will not be swayed by false propaganda moving forward. She advised the workers to promote the initiatives of the alliance government among the public, stressing that strategic alliances, even with long-time rivals like the NCP, are sometimes necessary for political success.

Munde acknowledged BJP's strong presence in Wadgaon Sheri, considering the officials' demand for the constituency as valid but reminded them that seat allocations will ultimately be decided by senior leadership.

Additionally, speculation is growing around ex-MLA Bapu Pathare's potential move to contest the upcoming assembly elections under the 'Tutari' symbol, after he was notably absent from Munde's meeting. When questioned about Pathare’s absence, Munde downplayed the issue, assuring that he would be present at the next meeting.
