Wadia College: Policeman Assaults Bus Driver, Fine Imposed After Viral Video

Fine of 3000 rupees was collected from policeman for causing inconvenience to passengers and delaying bus schedule.

Pune: A police officer assaulted a PMPML bus driver by blocking a moving bus with his motorcycle and questioning, "Why did you push the bus?" This incident occurred on Sunday morning (21st) near Wadia College, causing inconvenience to passengers.

Eventually, the matter reached the police station. As the bus from N.T. Wadi Depot was heading towards the municipal corporation, a police officer blocked the bus with his motorcycle near Wadia College. He then entered the bus, demanding to know why the bus had pushed him, and began assaulting the bus driver.

Some passengers recorded videos of this assault, which went viral, sparking various discussions. In the video, a police officer is seen assaulting the bus driver, while the driver is seen holding the officer's collar, asking why he is being beaten.

When the matter reached the police station, a bus ticket inspector advised the driver to file a formal complaint. Subsequently, the police mediated the situation and apologized to the driver. The driver resolved the matter amicably.

Additionally, a fine of three thousand rupees was collected from the police officer for causing inconvenience to the passengers and delaying the bus schedule. After this, the matter was settled.

Recently, a group of young boys celebrating a birthday outside their home were violently attacked by a police officer and his team from Loni Kalbhor police station.

Local residents had filed a complaint with the senior police inspector, demanding disciplinary measures against the officer involved. The incident occurred at Bhosale Chawl in the Lonikalbhor area.

Earlier, Vishrambaug Police had apprehended a man named Sushant Parte for impersonating a police officer and assaulting people while intoxicated. The arrest followed the circulation of a viral video on social media.

The footage shows a seemingly inebriated Parte, dressed in a police uniform and carrying a firearm, attacking citizens who were celebrating India's victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
