Pune: A man was killed by his colleague with a cement block over suspicions of an illicit relationship with his wife. The crime occurred on Tuesday, September 10, around 8:30 AM, near Dhangar Baba Temple on the road from Kalewadi Phata to Tapkir Chowk.

The Wakad Police swiftly acted and arrested the accused within just twelve hours of the crime in Beed.

The accused has been identified as Balasaheb Vitthal Salve, aged 32, residing in Srinagar Colony, Rahatani. Originally from Kesapuri, Majalgaon, Beed, Salve was arrested for the murder of Ali Ansari, aged 35.

Senior Police Inspector Nivrutti Kolhatkar reported that the police were alerted to an unconscious man near Dhangar Baba Temple on the morning of the incident. Upon arrival, they discovered a body lying in a pool of blood. The victim was identified as Ali Ansari, who worked as a painter.

To investigate the murder, the police formed two teams of officers who began searching for the suspect. With the help of eyewitnesses, CCTV footage, and confidential information, it was determined that Balasaheb Salve, a colleague of the victim, was responsible for the crime.

The police then searched Salve’s residence in Rahatani. Salve’s wife informed the police that her husband had not returned home, leading the police to trace him to his native village in Beed. The accused was subsequently apprehended in his native village.

Balasaheb Salve and Ali Ansari had been working together on painting projects for about a year and had regular interactions. Salve harbored suspicions about an affair between his wife and Ansari. Fueled by these suspicions, Salve attacked Ansari with a cement block, resulting in the murder.
