Pune: Wakad Police have arrested a 42-year-old man, Aniruddh Sadashiv Dabir, for molesting a 10-year-old girl over a span of four years.
Dabir, a resident of Anmol Residency in Wakad, allegedly forced the minor to watch obscene videos and threatened her with further abuse if she reported the incidents. The abuse came to light when the victim confided in her mother, who promptly lodged a complaint with the Wakad Police.
According to the police, despite knowing that the victim was a minor, the accused forcibly removed her clothes and molested her. He then threatened her by showing obscene videos and attempted to sexually assault her.
When the girl resisted, he threatened to harm her and her brother if she told anyone about the incident. The girl recently informed her mother, who then reported the matter to the police. The investigation is being conducted by Police Inspector Gaikwad.
Newlywed Woman Ends Life Due to Dowry Harassment
A newlywed woman named Khushbu Kesharinandan Karn (30), resident of Kohinoor Sapphire, Ramnagar, Tathawade) ended her life by jumping from the sixth floor of her building due to harassment by her in-laws over dowry.
The incident took place on August 28 at around 8:15 PM. Her father, Pradeep Narayanrao Zameendar (68, resident of Indore), filed a complaint at the Wakad Police Station, leading to the arrest of her husband, Kesharinandan Tejnarayanlal Karn (aged 33), and her in-laws, Shila Tejnarayanlal Karn and Tejnarayanlal Karn.
According to the police, Khushbu had married Kesharinandan four months ago. After the marriage, she was subjected to physical and mental abuse by her in-laws, who complained that insufficient dowry was given.
They physically assaulted her, kept her confined to the house, and constantly monitored her movements out of suspicion. Unable to bear the torture, she jumped from the balcony of her sixth-floor apartment, resulting in her death. Assistant Police Inspector Pawar is investigating the case.
