Pune: A shocking incident of molestation has been reported at Thergaon Municipal Hospital, where a ward boy allegedly molested a woman and her daughter while they were at the hospital for medical treatment.

The incident occurred on Saturday (September 7), around 8 PM, when the two were accompanying a female relative who required an MRI scan.

The accused, Rohan Balasaheb Kamble, 24, a resident of Panchsheel Nagar, Pimple Nilakh, has been booked by Wakad police following a complaint filed by a 42-year-old woman from Chinchwad.

According to the complaint, Kamble inappropriately touched the complainant and her daughter during their visit to the hospital.

The accused allegedly approached the victims under the pretense of assisting them but used the opportunity to molest them, causing distress and outrage. The victims immediately reported the incident, leading to the registration of a molestation case against Kamble.

The Wakad police have launched a detailed investigation to gather more evidence and testimonies. They are also reviewing CCTV footage from the hospital premises and questioning staff members who were present during the incident.

The authorities have assured the victims of swift action and emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety and dignity of all patients at the hospital.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety protocols in place at municipal hospitals and the conduct of hospital staff, prompting calls for stricter background checks and supervision.
