Pune: In a swift response to a theft incident during a wedding ceremony, the Indapur police's crime detection team successfully recovered a mobile phone belonging to the bride's sister within four hours.

The sister, a medical student, experienced a moment of panic when her phone was stolen amid the wedding festivities.

The incident unfolded during a lively afternoon wedding at a local office, where family members were busy bidding farewell to the bride.

It was during this time that they discovered the bride's sister's mobile phone was missing. Following the ceremony, the bride’s father promptly reported the theft to the Indapur police station.

Police Inspector Suryakant Kokane quickly mobilized the crime detection team, which included Assistant Sub-Inspector Prakash Mane and Constables Salman Khan, Ganesh Dere, Vishal Chaudhari, Tushar Chavan, Ankush Mane, Nandu Jadhav, and Praveen Shingade, to investigate the matter. They tracked the mobile's location and initiated a thorough search. While the location was identifiable, the phone remained elusive.

Investigators discovered that the thief had buried the mobile near the protective wall of the wedding venue and placed a stone on top to conceal it.

The phone was ultimately located thanks to its vibrations. Once recovered, the mobile was returned to the bride's family, who expressed immense relief and gratitude. The quick action taken by the Indapur police has garnered widespread appreciation from the community.
