WhatsApp Status Leads to Missing Police Officer; Wife Files Complaint

Officer from Crime Detection Branch had posted status on WhatsApp at 3:11 PM on July 26, stating that no one should call or message him for some time.

Pune: A wave of panic erupted after a complaint was filed by the wife of a Crime Detection Branch officer from Lonikand Police Station, stating that her husband had gone missing on the night of July 26 at around 11 PM.

This situation has now led to the police having to search for one of their own officers. The officer from the Crime Detection Branch had posted a status on WhatsApp at 3:11 PM on July 26, stating that no one should call or message him for some time.

Afterward, news of the officer's disappearance spread like wildfire in the jurisdiction of the Lonikand Police Station. There is also widespread talk among the police that a senior officer had treated the missing officer disrespectfully.

As the missing officer was known for his expertise in solving crimes quickly, the Crime Detection Branch is now under pressure to locate him.

Reports of employees being mistreated by a senior officer at the Lonikand Police Station are starting to surface. Sandeep Satav, District President of BJP Youth Wing Pune, stated that they will meet with Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to demand an investigation into the matter.

Senior Police Inspector Sawalaram Salgaonkar confirmed that a complaint about the missing officer has been filed at the police station and that the search for the officer is ongoing.
