Pune: A case of harassment has been registered against Shubham Dubey, a manager at a well-known private financial institution in Pune’s Yerawada area, following allegations by a female employee.

According to the Yerawada police, Dubey engaged in inappropriate behavior towards the woman, allegedly demanding sexual favors and threatening her job when she refused.

The incident reportedly took place at the company’s office in Yerawada’s IT Park.

The employee initially reported the matter to the company’s women’s grievance redressal committee, hoping for a resolution. However, despite her formal complaint, the committee allegedly failed to act and instead attempted to downplay the issue.

Following continued harassment, the woman felt compelled to approach the Yerawada police for assistance.

As per the woman’s statement, Dubey would follow her to the restroom and obstruct her path, allegedly making indecent advances. When she rejected his demands, he threatened to remove her from her position.

She reported enduring harassment and attempts by the accused to intimidate her, prompting her to turn to the police after the company’s internal committee did not take adequate action.

The Yerawada police have filed a formal complaint against Dubey, who is now under investigation. Assistant Police Inspector Priyanka Devkar-Patil is handling the case, with further inquiries ongoing.

Earlier in July, a disturbing case of workplace harassment had emerged from a research and training institute in the Queens Garden area, where a female officer was allegedly harassed by a junior officer through offensive messages shared in a social media group meant for office communication.

Koregaon Park Police had registered a case of harassment against the junior officer involved. The accused was been identified as Sanjeev Katke, a resident of Queens Garden, Koregaon Park.
