President-elect Joe Biden is all set to take over the reins of the United States of America on January 20 at the 59th Presidential Inauguration. He will be sworn in as the 46th President of the USA. Along with Biden, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will also take the oath at the West Front of the US Capitol. When and where is Biden’s inauguration going to take place?
The event will start around 10 am local time after which opening remarks are scheduled for 11:30 am local time. The ceremony will take place at the West Front of the US Capitol in Washington DC.
How many people can attend the ceremony?
With Covid-19 infection still surging in the country, authorities have urged Americans to avoid traveling to the capital, with only 200 people slated to sit, socially distanced, on the main stage and only 1000 tickets up for grab to attend the official ceremony.
What is the schedule for the day?
This is the first time in US history where Presidential inauguration will be live stream. After taking the oath, the new-elected president will deliver an inaugural address, in which he will lay out his plans and vision for the next four years.
Following the oath-taking ceremony and inaugural address, there will be a ‘Pass in Reviews.’ This is a ceremony where peaceful power of transfer is reflected within the military. The members of the military will then escort the newly elected President and Vice President to the White House. The ceremony will conclude with a ‘’Parade across America,’ which will feature a performance by various communities from across America.
Who all are going to perform?
Despite the pandemic, many artists are going to register their presence at the inauguration. Lady Gaga will perform the national anthem. Jennifer Lopez is also slated to join the ceremony’s musical performance.
Actor Tom Hanks will host a 90-minutes friendly prime time programme that will include interaction with Biden and Harris. It would also feature Garth Brooks, Jon Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake, Kerry Washington, Demi Lovato, Eva Longoria, John Legend, and Ant Clemons.
