Watch how this Chinese man's big belly saved him from falling into a well

Sakal Times News Desk

In a hilarious, yet alarming incident, the big belly of an overweight Chinese man saved him from falling into a well. Liu, a 28-year-old was trapped in the well as the wooden cover suddenly broke off and his belly got wedged and stopped him from falling down. The incident happened in Luoyang city in central China's Henan Province.

A team of at least five firefighters rushed to rescue the man. Last week the group shared the video of the man, shirtless patiently waiting for help with his arms crossed. After their arrival, the firefighters realised that he was completely stuck.

The firefighters skirted a rope around his belly and safely pulled him out of the well. The man did not sustain any injury. As per estimations, the man weighed around 500 pounds. His fat belly turned out to be his lifesaver.

Reportedly, Liu is suffering from a mental illness. He jumped on the wooden cover. The family was planning to fill the well as it was dried out.

The video has gone viral on social media sites. One user posted, "they say bigger waistlines increase to health risks but never tell you they save you from wells. Something to think about."
