Yerawada: 16-Year-Old Girl Ends Life After Alcohol Party With Female Friend

The deceased is identified as Tanisha Shantaram Manore. Another 16-year-old girl was found unconscious due to excessive alcohol consumption.

Pune: In a shocking incident in Yerawada, a 16-year-old girl ended her life after hosting an alcohol party with her female friend at home. The friend was found unconscious and is currently receiving treatment at Sassoon Hospital.

The reason behind the girl's extreme step is yet to be determined. Yerawada police are investigating the matter.

The deceased has been identified as Tanisha Shantaram Manore. Another 16-year-old girl was found unconscious due to excessive alcohol consumption during the party. A case of accidental death has been registered at Yerawada Police Station.

According to the police, Tanisha lived in the Laxminagar area of Yerawada and was an 11th-grade student at a local college. Her mother is a vegetable vendor.

On Monday (July 15), Tanisha and her friend had an alcohol party at Tanisha's house. Around 8 PM, Tanisha's friend called a boy who lived nearby, asking him to come over.

When the boy arrived and looked inside, he discovered Tanisha had hanged herself. He brought her down and tried to revive her by splashing water on her face.

He then informed Tanisha's mother about the incident. Tanisha was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared dead before any treatment could be administered.

Tanisha's friend was also found unconscious at the scene. Efforts to wake her revealed she was heavily intoxicated. Her parents admitted her to Sassoon Hospital for treatment.

Upon learning of the incident, Yerawada police rushed to the scene. Their investigation revealed that Tanisha and her friend had hosted an alcohol party and had vomited afterward.

Due to the friend's unconscious state, the exact reasons behind Tanisha's suicide and the timing of her actions remain unclear. The investigation is ongoing under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ravindrakumar Shelke.
