Pune: In a tragic accident at a glass factory in Yewalewadi, Kondhwa, two workers lost their lives while two others are battling for survival after being critically injured. The incident occurred on Sunday (September 29), around 1:30 PM, during a routine unloading process that went horribly wrong.

According to the Pune Fire Brigade Department, a mishap took place when large glass panes shattered during unloading operations, trapping five workers under the broken shards.

Responding to the emergency, the fire brigade rushed to the site and, after a challenging rescue effort, managed to pull all five workers out of the debris.

The injured workers were immediately rushed to the hospital, where, tragically, two of them succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival. The other two remain in critical condition and are under intensive care.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident, focusing on whether proper safety measures were in place at the time. The incident has raised concerns over safety protocols at industrial units, especially those dealing with hazardous materials.
