PUNE: The first ASG Eye hospital in the state was opened in Pune city on Friday. The leading chain of eye hospitals in the country opened its 27th branch for Punekars.
Speaking to media during an interaction on Friday, Dr Nitesh Salunkhe said that the super speciality hospital in the city will provide all treatments related to eyes under one roof.
“The first ASG Eye Hospital in the state of Maharashtra was launched today on FC road in Pune city. For the first two months after the launch, the hospital will provide free eye consultation to all patients,” said Salunkhe.
He further added that the world-class hospital will be giving the patients a world class facility by trained doctors of All India Institutes of Medical Sciences AIIMS, Delhi.
“Here at the hospital, stitch-less 25G and 27G vitrectomy surgeries will be provided to the patients with diseases of the retina. It is also essential to get retina of diabetic and hypertensive patients to be screened. All of these facilities will be available at the hospital under one roof,” said Salunkhe.
Speaking to the media, Dr Divya Singh Patil said that the hospital is equipped with two world-class operation theatres.
“These operation theatres have new equipment that will help patients. The hospital also has in-patient department with 15 beds in case of any admissions. To add to this, the ASG group of hospitals have more than 90 doctors regularly in touch for eye-related issues. All of these experts are available for any emergencies or rare cases,” said Dr Patil.
Speaking to Sakal Times, Dr Akash Yadav said that patients often do not pay attention to eye related issues and approach the doctors when it is late.
“If a patient comes on time, the treatment can be more effective and can actually help the patient better. We, under one roof, can provide all-round care for the eyes,” said Dr Yadav.
Echoing similar sentiments, Dr Mukesh Patil, “Our experts are skilled and experienced in operating complex cases.
Cases like mature cataract, small pupil cataracts and traumatic and subluxated cataracts. Also, Lazy eye or Amblyopia, Squint, Glaucoma should be treated in time to prevent permanent loss of vision,” said Patil.
