Pune: The addiction of using expensive mobile phones to impress their girlfriends made these youth steal over 26 mobile phones.

The Crime Branch unit Pimpri-Chinchwad police on Thursday arrested two men for allegedly stealing over 26 mobile phones to impress their girlfriends.

The suspects are identified as Nilesh Bhalerao (19) and Sagar Sawale (22). It has been revealed that the duo stole 26 mobile phones and three two-wheelers for his girlfriend. Acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid at Bhosari flyover to arrest the duo. After police nabbed the duo, both men accepted that they used to steal mobile phones to impress their girlfriends. The police have recovered 26 mobile phones and three bikes.

According to police, the two men were stealing mobile phones to impress their girlfriends. After every robbery, the pair took the old mobiles of their girlfriends and sold them to get some good money. Apart from mobile phones, the duo has stolen three bikes. The police have confirmed their involvement in nine cases, including thefts and robberies in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Senior police inspector Uttam Tangade is investigating the case further.

There’s only one real takeaway from this case: If your partner is so demanding that you’ve to begin doing illegal doings, leave them and you’ll live a quieter life!
