Jupiter Hospital to commence Masters in Emergency Medicine

ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: Jupiter Hospital will start Masters in Emergency Medicine (MEM) certified by George Washington University (USA) from July 1 this year. The 3-year comprehensive curriculum with a combination of local and international faculty will train doctors to be at the forefront of their branch.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has 67,352 MBBS seats, but merely 31,415 post-graduation seats in medicine. This means every year more than half of the doctors are left without an opportunity to pursue any post-graduation.

This MEM certification by George Washington University (GWU), USA, is a viable alternative for those students, who are unable to secure a regular MD/ MS/ DNB seat. The rigorous training and curriculum will provide doctors with the skills and knowledge, which is required by large corporate hospitals.
