Land allocated for court in Yerawada

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: The district administration has decided to allocate 4,050 square metres of land for development of district court in Yerawada. As per officials of the district administration department, the high court had asked for government land to expand Pune court and so the administration has taken the decision.

An official from the district administration said that the High Court had asked for land at Agriculture College or at Shivajinagar food godown or in Yerawada.

“As the Shivajinagar food godown land is allocated for development of metro project we were left with an option of Agriculture College land and land in Yerawada.

“We do not have land in Agriculture College and so we decided to give land in Yerawada which is at survey 191,” said the official from district administration department.

Officials said that as the number of pending cases is piling up at Shivajinagar court there is a need for expansion of the court.
