Pune: Located at Talegaon, this premier logistics echelon has an illustrious history of 75 years with its raising accomplished on 13 August 13, 1941 during the World War II.
Since its inception, the Depot remained witness to most of the conflicts and has provided logistics support to the Field Army. For its unflinching commitment and dedicated logistics support over the years, the depot has been adjudged the ‘Best Regional Ordnance Depot for Automation’ in 2015 and ‘Best Innovation Depot’ of Army Ordnance Corps in 2016. On January 15, the Depot became the worthy recipient of ‘Southern Army Commander‘s Unit Appreciation‘ for 2017.
Ordnance Depot Talegoan Dabhade is located 35 km from Pune on old Pune-Mumbai Highway. Ordnance Depot Talegaon celebrated its Platinum Jubilee on June 2 by paying homage to the martyrs of Indian Army and garlanding the statue of the great warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The platinum jubilee celebration commenced with a Special Sainik Sammelan and release of First Day Cover by Major General Army Ordnance Corps (MG AOC), Southern Command at Ordnance Depot Talegaon. General Officer Commanding Dakshin Maharashtra Sub Area (GOC DMSA) thereafter inaugurated the Platinum Jubilee Gate and released the Dehu Road Ordnance Depot Queen ‘My Stamp’. The GOC, DMSA, MGAOC, Head Quarter Southern Command and all Ex- Commandants duly commended the Commandant and Team Dehu Road Ordnance Depot on this occasion.
The event was attended by maximum Ex-Commandants along with a large number of veterans, ex-Subedar Majors, Junior Commissioned Officers and ex-civilian employees of the establishment.
Besides excelling in the professional arena, the depot has qualified as a major social catalyst for citizens residing in Talegaon and Dehu Road area being in the forefront in rendering assistance to the local populace.
