Pune heaves sigh of relief; city records lowest number of COVID cases in last 10 months

A total of 2,385 samples were tested of which only 98 were tested positive for the COVID19 in Pune on Monday

Pune: Puneties can heave sigh of relief as the city reported the lowest number of fresh COVID-19 positive cases on Monday (January 25), since past 10 months.

A total of 2,385 samples were tested of which only 98 were tested positive for the COVID19 disease on Monday, while only one death was reported in the city due to the infection. Total 5134 samples were tested from the Pune district.

According to the Pune Zilla Parishad Health Department ISDP Cell coronavirus outbreak summary report, there were a total of 270 freshly reported COVID19 positive cases in the district.

Out of these, 98 cases were from Pune Municipal Corporation, 84 from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and 67 from the rural areas of the district. The Municipal Councils (nagar palika) and Cantonment areas reported 16 and 5 cases respectively.
