Pimpri: The municipal administration has decided to tighten the lockdown in Pimpri-Chinchwad as the cases of coronavirus continue to rise. The strict implementation will start from Tuesday morning.
Most of the facilities provided in the lockdown five have been shut down. However, factories in the industrial city will continue to operate conditionally.
This lockdown will be carried out from July 14 to 23, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Shravan Hardikar said on Sunday night.
Two days ago, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had announced a lockdown as the graph of corona in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area was increasing. However, discussions were underway on what the lockdown would look like.
Hardikar has issued orders regarding lockdown, which will be in effect from midnight on July 13, i.e. from July 14.
What will be closed:
Grocery shops, all retailers and wholesalers in PCMC, all other commercial shops will be closed for five days, after which only shops supplying essentials and their wholesalers will be open from 8 am to 12 noon
Public, private playgrounds, open spaces, parks, gardens will be closed. Restaurants, bars, lodges, hotels (excluding those used for Covid-19 under Vande Bharat Yojana), resorts, malls, markets will remain closed.
Hair salon, salon, spa, beauty parlour and mandai, Adat vegetable market, fruit sellers, weekly market, hawkers will be closed for five days and in the following period farmers weekly market as well as official hawkers selling vegetables and fruits. Sales will continue from 8 am to 12 pm.
Schools, colleges, educational institutes, training institutes, all types of teaching classes will be completely closed. Public and private passenger vehicles - two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers will be completely closed. Emergency service vehicles, pre-authorised PM vehicles as well as private vehicles will be used to travel to and from airports, railway stations and for medical purposes.
Public and private bus services in the city will be entirely closed for trucks, tempos, trailers, tractors etc. Essential services will continue. Construction work will be completely closed. Workers will be able to continue work on a construction site that houses workers. Cinemas, gyms, swimming pools, entertainment industries, theatres, bars, auditoriums, auditoriums will be completely closed. Social, political entertainment, cultural and religious events and gatherings, religious places will be closed.
What will continue with restrictions
Milk sale and home delivery of milk started. Private and public medical services, veterinary services will continue as per their regular schedule. Medical stores, as well as online drug delivery services, will continue for the entire period.
Swarajya Sanstha offices, as well as all private offices, will continue with 10 per cent staff as per Government of Maharashtra Reference No. 4. Petrol pumps and gas pumps will be open from 9 am to 2 pm and will supply fuel only to government vehicles and vehicles in essential services and supply chains.
Printing and distribution system of daily newspapers and periodicals, as well as digital/print media offices, will continue as per government rules. Distribution of newspapers will be allowed only from 6 to 9 in the morning.
Other customer services of the bank like online, ATM services will continue. The entire Pimpri Chinchwad city boundary courts started. Pharmaceutical and food production, continuous processing and export industries and their suppliers will continue as per norms.
Metro, smart city, important national projects, projects under smart city etc. started.
All industrial establishments will continue. Licensed enterprises from Pimpri-Chinchwad can travel in and out of the industrial area only in four-wheelers or fixed buses. The industrial establishment in which the patient of COVID-19 will be found.
The IT industry can be run with 15 per cent staff capacity.
Process related to agriculture will continue as per industry rules. All medical professionals, nurses, paramedical staff, cleaners and ambulances will be allowed to travel within the city.
Completely banned
All persons above 65 years of age, persons with high-risk diseases (diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, liver and kidney diseases, cancer, infected patients, etc.), pregnant women, children below the age of 10 years should not be out of the home without medical reasons. No other person should leave the house without an urgent medical reason.
"Masks are required in public places, workplaces and while travelling. The use of marks is mandatory. Otherwise, an offence will be filed. Physical distance is required. Consumption of alcohol, betel leaf, tobacco, etc. in public places is prohibited. Also, conditional permission is given to industries. Follow the rules," Commissioner Shravan Hardikar said.
