Pune lockdown: Swiggy, Zomato food delivery, maids allowed on weekend shutdown

Pune: Emergency services, food delivery, milk delivery, maids and helpers are allowed to travel during the complete lockdown in Pune on Saturday and Sunday, informed Divisional Commisoner Saurabh Rao. The weekend lockdown which starts on Friday will remain in place till Monday morning in Pune.

The complete lockdown on Saturday and Sunday in Pune will see closure of all shops. However, there will be ease on restrictions only for few to travel during the complete lockdown.

A meeting to plan the weekend lockdown was chaired in Pune where PMC (Pune Municipal Corporation) Commisoner, Vikram Kumar, Pune Police Chief Amitabh Gupta, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Chief Krishna Prakash and other senior officials from the health department were present. Check the services and know who is allowed to travel during the complete lockdown in Pune:

- The sale of milk will remain operational between 6 am to 11 pm where people can visit to collect the milk.

- Medical shops can remain open whole day.

- Opticians and optical shops can operate during lockdown.

- Food delivery from online services such as Zomato, Swiggy will be allowed. However, people will not be able to visit restaurants for parcels.

- Students residing in Pune can travel to their mess, canteen for lunch and dinner.

- Those travelling for vaccination are allowed to travel.

- Maids, cook, workers, drivers, helpers to assist ill persons can travel during the complete lockdown.

VACCINATION HALTED IN PIMPRI CHINCHWAD

Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Friday temporarily suspended its vaccination drive due to the non-availability of vaccine doses.

"Covid-19 vaccination to remain suspended in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on April 9 as there is no stock of vaccines is available with the corporation. The process to get the vaccine stock is underway and vaccination shall resume as soon as vaccines are received," an official order read.

Lok Sabha MP and Nationalist Congress Party leader Supriya Sule also alleged that that 109 vaccination centres remained close in Pune on Wednesday.

Supriya Sule on her Twitter acount wrote, "Pune District vaccinated 55,539 persons in 391 vaccination centres today. Several thousand people went back without being vaccinated because the vaccines stock was exhausted."

"109 centres remained shut today because they had no stock of vaccines. Our momentum may be lost due to lack of stock, we remain determined to vaccinate every consenting person to save lives, to break the chain of infection and to get our economy back on its feet at the earliest," she added.

As many as 2,30,000 people have been inoculated at the 87 vaccination centres since the vaccination drive began on January 16.
