Pune: Mahesh Manjrekar booked for slapping motorist after minor accident

A non-cognisable (NC) offence has been registered against Manjrekar in this regard.

Pune: Film director and actor Mahesh Manjrekar has been booked by Pune Rural police on charges of slapping a motorist after a minor accident near Yavat on Pune-Solapur highway on Saturday (January 16) night.

A non-cognisable (NC) offence has been registered against Manjrekar in this regard. The NC complaint has been filed by one Kailas Satpute at the Yavat police station.

According to police, Manjrekar was heading towards Solapur on Saturday night. He applied brakes to his car suddenly on the highway near Yavat. Due to this sudden move, the motorist coming from behind hit Manjrekar's car.

Manjrekar's car received minor damage. Manjrekar allegedly abused and slapped the motorist after this minor accident. A video clip of the said incident has been recorded and has gone viral on social media platforms. Manjrekar can be seen in the video asking the motorist as to whether he was drunk while driving.
