Pune: Entire Pune city will not get any water supply on Friday (January 8) due to repair work at various pumping stations around the city. The water supply will be restored on Saturday (January 9).
Earlier the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) stated that the water supply will be suspended on Thursday however, due to technical glitch, the civic body has decided to close the supply on Friday.
The PMC has stated that there is an urgent repair work thus the water supply will be affected. The pumping stations that will be non-operational on Thursday include Parvati water works, Cantonment water works, SNDT, Warje pumping centre, Wadgaon and Navin Holkar pumping station. Areas which will not have any water supply on Friday include all Peth areas, Deccan, Shivajinagar, Parvati, Swargate, Satara Road, Mukund Nagar, Dattawadi, Panmala, Shastri Road, Kothrud, Karve Nagar, Warje, Camp, Erandwane, Aundh, Pashan, Bopodi, Khadki, Bavdhan, Sinhagad Road, Dhayari.
PMC will restore water supply on Saturday with low pressure, the press release issued by the water department of the civic body read.
