Pune: Sensing the backlash from the residents, the Pune traffic police has put the plan to convert the Fergusson College road stretch between Veer Chapekar Chowk (College of Agriculture) to Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk into a two-way on hold on Monday. Pune Police has issued a notification regarding it.

Almost 11 years after the Fergusson College (FC) road was made one-way, a notification was issued by Additional Commissioner of Police (CP) (Traffic) Sanjay Shinde on February 27, stating that to open a stretch for two-way traffic from Veer Chapekar Chowk (College of Agriculture) to Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk.

Though, February 27 notification was temporary in purpose and called for suggestion and objections till March 12, on Monday, suddenly the police issued another notification stalling their plan.

Citing the example of ongoing footpath work at the FC road from the Lalit Mahal hotel to Veer Chapekar Chowk (College of Agriculture), police stated that due to the foot-path construction work and ongoing SSC and HSC board exams, the plan to make it two was put on hold.
