Pune Police wants to know why Punekars leave home in lockdown

Mubarak Ansari

Pune: For what reasons are Punekars going out? An online survey is being conducted by the police to understand their problems and plan out exactly how they can be solved. The survey was launched on Tuesday (19th May) and is getting good response from the citizens.

During the lockdown, citizens are rushing out of the house to fetch various items or for other work and are being stopped by the police. ‘Stay at home to stop Corona’, appeals are being made repeatedly by the police. Despite this, the number of people loitering is large. So what exactly are the needs of the citizens for which they are coming out often? This survey is being conducted to address these needs and problems.

Police have appealed to people on social media to fill the online survey form. They have to give details like name, age and how many people are in the family. Are there children and senior citizens in the house? How often do you leave the house? What problems do you face during the lockdown and how is your mood due to corona? Also in which part of the city do you live?

Commissioner of Police Dr K Venkatesham said, “What exactly are the feelings of the citizens in this situation? Do they have any suggestions or solutions? We are trying to understand this. For this, this survey is being conducted online. The survey will be analyzed after three days. Corrective measures will be taken as per the information received from the survey.”
