Pune: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has given students the opportunity to choose both online and offline exams and many students are opting for online instead of their previously chosen offline exams. In the last few days, about 1,200 students have opted for online exams.

Students will be able to change their examination option till Sunday. More and more students should choose the option of online examination, appealed Dr Mahesh Kakade, SPPU, Director, Examinations and Assessment Board.

SPPU will conduct the examination of final year students of affiliated colleges in the three districts of Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik in the month of October. The university offered students the option of online and offline exams. More and more students are opting for online exams. The number of students appearing for the final year examination is 2.28 lakh (2,28.499) out of which more than 1.89 lakh students have opted for online examination. 39,000 students have opted for the offline exam.

Considering the health of the students in the background of COVID-19, the university put the option of taking the exam online in front of the students. Even in the online examination system, most of the students have opted to take the exam through mobile.

The number of students who have not yet opted for either online or offline exams is around 19,000. If these students choose the option, they will have to take the exam offline. The university administration has also appealed to the students who have opted to take the exam offline to choose one of the examinations centres published by the university.
