Pune railway station bags ‘Swachh Award’

Pune: The Pune Railway Division has received the ‘Swachh Award’ in A1 category recently in Nagpur during the rail week, which was organised by the Central Railway. The Pimpri-Chinchwad railway station also received the clean station award in the C, D and E category.

According to officials of the Pune Railway Division, many steps were taken to clean the station. The division also set up a ‘Tejas squad’ to check those littering on the platform, railway tracks and in the station premises. The award was given to Milind Deouskar, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Pune, by DK Sharma, General Manager, Central Railway. The officials and employees of the Pune division were also rewarded for outstanding work.

During the occasion, eight railway staff of the Pune Division, including Parmhans Bajpai, Assistant Executive Engineer (Construction) of Pune Division, Mahesh Mahajan, Chief Commercial Inspector, Subhash Lal, Rupsing Rathod, Ramesh Nyaynit, Devendra Kumar, all Senior Section Engineers, M Armugaswami, Station Manager Karad, SM Ravindran, Traffic Inspector and Swapnil Kusle, Junior Ticket Inspector, were also awarded.
