In a shocking incident, a 20-year-girl, working at a call centre in Kharadi, Pune was raped by a stalker.

Pune: Pune, considered as IT hub and Oxford of the East is marching towards one of the smartest cities in India. However, the increase in crime rate will surely hamper the image of the city.

In a shocking incident, a 20-year-girl, working at a call centre in Kharadi was raped by a stalker.

She was violated by a man while she was on her way back to her home from office on the last day of 2020.

The identity of the suspect is yet to be ascertained. The victim has lodged FIR against the unidentified suspect at the Vishrantwadi Police Station.

According to police, the girl resides in Dhanori. She works in a call centre at Kharadi. She completed her duty on Thursday (December 31) morning. She was on her bike and heading towards her home. An unidentified man chasing her for a while intercepted her.

The suspect assaulted her and forced her to sit on his bike. He then took her to a secluded place in Kharadi. The man sexually assaulted the girl and then dropped her back at Gunjan Chowk. The victim girl later called her friend and informed him about the incident. She later reached home and decided to file a complaint against the man.

Police have imposed relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to crimes of rape, kidnapping and assault against the suspect.
