Pune: The COVID-19 outbreak has forced the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) to conduct its 117th Regular Convocation Ceremony online in August this year. Students can apply through the university website for their degree or diploma certificate from July 13 to 20, which will be delivered by the post to the address mentioned in the application.
The date of the convocation ceremony and faculty-wise convocation list will be available on the university website around one week before the convocation ceremony. Those students who have cleared their examination held in October or November 2019 or before it can apply for the regular convocation certificate. While for the supplementary convocation certificate, only students who have cleared the examinations in April or May 2019 can apply. The link to apply for a supplementary convocation certificate will be closed from July 13 to 20.
About three lakh students apply each year to the university for convocation, which is held at the university campus with great fanfare. Dr Mahesh Kakade, Director of Board of Examinations & Evaluation of SPPU, said, “The convocation ceremony will be conducted online this year.
