Pune: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a sanitary pad vending machine and incinerator was installed at the Nigdi police station for women police personnel and complainants. Inner Wheel Club of Nigdi Pride  took the initiative in this regard.

The inaugural function was attended by Senior Police Inspector Vijay Palsule and his staff, besides members of the club. “The machines will help women personnel of the police station, besides those who come here for bandobast duty. Also, it will be beneficial to women complainants,” club president Savita Rajapurkar said.
Inspector Palsule added, “It is the need of the hour, keeping in mind health benefits of women.”
