Pune: It's been almost three months since the results of Class 10 board exams were declared. Thousands of students who were waiting for their Class 11 admission and resumption of colleges will be relieved by the beginning of online classes. On Monday, online classes were started on a good note as it garnered over two lakh views.

Every day, three subjects will be taught by the teachers around the state. On the first day, online classes received over 2,18,910 views.

The Maharashtra education department started the free online classes for class 11 students on Monday to prevent the loss of academic sessions amid the coronavirus outbreak. The education department started classes on YouTube.

The decision of online classes for the students was taken to evade the academic loss till colleges resume and function normally, he further explained.

“Schools and colleges in the state are shut due to covid-19 outbreak. Besides the pandemic, the admission process for FYJC is suspended due to the ongoing Maratha quota issue,” State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Director Dinkar Patil noted, as reported by PTI.

One of the parents said, “Since the exams of Class 10, children were at home amid the rising cases of COVID-19. Physical admission to the colleges is also not certain as the information about the admission process is also not clear. Now start of online classes will help children to be back on the routine.”

Riya Gore, Class 11 student said, “The online classes started at 8:30 in the morning. Three subjects are being taught in one day. This is a great opportunity to learn eleven lessons from teachers around the state. Though the colleges are not resumed, the online classes will help us to get back on the routine study.”

Meanwhile, the admission process for the FYJC is currently halted amid COVID-19 and Supreme Court order staying the implementation of reservation for Marathas in jobs and education.
