Pune: Vibgyor High School, Balewadi started their Mapro Presents Sakal Schoolympics campaign on a winning note at NCL Ground, Pashin with a 4-0 win over Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 here, on Monday.
Divya Jeet Deshmukh was the star of the show for Vibgyor with a brace -- scored in 10th and 12th minute. He was ably supported by Anish Numbalkar, who opened the scoring in the 8th minute, and Denzil John, who completed the rout in the 23rd minute.

In an earlier match at the same venue, Lokseva English Medium school put five goals past Akshara International School, courtesy four goals by Aalim Phopa. Aalim Pongthra scored the first goal in the fifth minute before his namesake stole the show. Phopha scored his all four goals in space of 11 minutes, starting with 10th, 14th, 16 and 16th as Lokseva English medium found the target five times. Varun Pawar scored a consolation goal for Akshara International School in the 21st minute.
The other match, Ryan International School, Bavdhan and Vidyanchal High School wasn’t high scoring, as Vedant Kothari’s eighth-minute strike earned Ryan International School a win.
