Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has become the fastest Indian to pick 400 wickets in Test cricket format. He is also the second-fastest bowler in the world to reach the milestone after Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan.
Ashwin picked the wicket of England’s Jofra Archer on the 2nd day of the third Test between India and England to achieve this feat.
The 34-year-old, playing in his 77th Test, is now only the sixth spinner in the world and the fourth Indian overall to take 400 Test wickets. Former captain Anil Kumble (619), Kapil Dev, (434), Harbhajan Singh (417) are the other Indians who have 400 Test wickets to their credit.
Ashwin is also the fastest Indian to pick 300 Test wickets.
