Axar Patel was the biggest impact player for India, picking up ten wickets on his home ground, as India defeated England by 10 wickets in the third pink ball day-night Test match to move up in the four-match series 2-1 in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

After losing three wickets on Wednesday, the second day of play started with India continuing their innings at 99/3, trailing England by just 13 runs. However, the Indian team was bundled up for a total score of 145 runs. England skipper Joe Root picked a fifer along with Jack Leach’s four wickets stopping the host from putting a big score.

When visitors can out to bat for their second innings, wickets tumbled quickly on a vicious turner with Axar Patel and R Ashwin, who also picked up his 400th test wicket, rampaging through England’s batting line up. England hopes of winning the game after a dream-start on the second day soon turned into a nightmare when they got all-out for just 81 runs. Axar Patel picked his second fifer of the game, with Ashwin taking four scalps.

Both the teams will play the fourth and final Test match of the series in Ahmedabad on March 4.
