IPL 2021 Auction: Last buy of the evening, Arjun Tendulkar joins Mumbai Indians

Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar was sold at base price to Mumbai Indians in the auction ahead of IPL 2021

Chennai: In a good news for Sachin Tendulkar and his fans, Sachin’s son Arjun Tendulkar made it to the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL). In the last buy of the evening on Thursday in auction at Chennai, Arjun Tendulkar was bought by Mumbai Indians at a base price of Rs 20 lakh.

Arjun continued his stellar form in the 73rd Police Shield Tournament. Arjun who plays for MIG Cricket Club, Arjun thrashed 47 off just 23 balls at strike rate at 204.35. He smashed five sixes in his innings. He regained form at the right time as the auction for IPL 2021. Given his recent performances, Arjun was likely to get picked in the mini auction ahead of the 14th season of IPL.

The son of legend made his senior debut in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Though he didn't have a good outing, he managed 2 wickets but that was unlikely to had an impact on his IPL chances. Not to forget the 21-year-old lad was with Mumbai Indians as a net bowler for a couple of seasons and also travelled to UAE for last year’s IPL season.
